18 teams from far and wide competed in the BPL state finals at Torrensville Bowls Club on Sunday September 25th. Local suburban teams from Adelaide, Lockleys and Hawthorne competed with the likes of Moonta, Mount Gambier, Yorktown.
Section 1 and 2 winners were Bute and Torrensville and Torrensville prevailed 3-8, 8-1, 1-0 in the tiebreak.
The Torrensville team of Craig Cannell, Brenton Rolton and Malcolm Potter then drew Section 3 winner, the Marion team who prevailed over the home side in a thrilling tiebreak.
In the other final, Section 4 winners Hawthorn met the Moonta team from Section 5, and Hawthorn were winners in two sets, 6-3 and 5-3.
