Sunday May 3 saw quite a crowd at Torrensville Bowling Club, with the state players practicing on rinks 5 to 11, and the second session of Sunday training under the guidance of Dean James.
Two entertaining and close finals followed on the ‘show rinks’, watched by an appreciative crowd.

In the handicap singles, Brody Kerr, giving away two shots to Callum, trailed as the match was drawing to a close. With Callum requiring a single shot, Brody saved the match five times in a row.
Callum eventually prevailed in an encounter that had all the shots on display from both competitors, heralding a great future for our club.
Perennial Ladies champion, Lyn Brice, put up a spirited display against John Eade.
John led early and the accuracy of his draw bowling threatened an early conclusion. But Lyn’s fighting spirit came to the fore, and often trailing the jack to her own bowls. In the end, John’s consistency prevailed.
Hearty congratulations to first-time winner John.

Our congratulations to all competitors, and don’t forget that the presentation lunch follows our AGM on Sunday May 31.
